Principles and Rules Conflict of Interest

No behaviour that compromises decision-making independence or creates a conflict of personal interest is permitted. Employees are not allowed to engage in additional or joint work related to our company’s activities, either directly or indirectly.

They cannot be partners in services provided by subcontractors during their employment. They cannot establish their own companies in this field. While having relatives or personal connections within the company and competitor companies is not prohibited, such relations must be reported to Human Resources. Human Resources will take necessary measures to eliminate potential conflicts of interest. We treat and respect all individuals fairly, in accordance with our Code of Ethics.

Corruption and bribery are legal offenses, and all our employees are fully aware of this. We expect our third-party partners and subcontractors to uphold the same ethical standards against bribery and corruption.

Political discussions and sharing are prohibited in Petroyağ’s meetings, events, and social media channels. Employees shall never pressure or alienate each other over differing political opinions.

While we respect the democratic rights of our employees and stakeholders as defined by law, they shall not associate their personal political views with Petroyağ in any context. Additionally, company resources shall not be used for political activities, and the Petroyağ name cannot be leveraged in political circles for personal gain or other purposes.

Regardless of the situation, speaking in an imperative tone outside the rules of courtesy is not allowed. No behaviour or style that undermines authority is tolerated among employees. It is essential that our employees contribute to each other’s development, share information, and participate in teamwork.

Employees are expected to cooperate beyond their job descriptions when necessary, but no one is obliged to perform another person’s personal tasks. We provide training on conflict and stress management skills, and unmanageable conflicts and stressful behaviours are not approved.

With our Code of Ethics, we aim to guide our employees and stakeholders towards better and more truthful practices.

Our Code of Ethics applies to all employees, customers, suppliers, dealers, and subcontractors. All stakeholders shall respect, adopt, and act in accordance with the rules and values outlined in the Code of Ethics. Discussing or writing about issues that you are uncertain if they are ethical or not can be challenging, but remaining silent about that issue may imply acceptance.

Therefore, Petroyağ employees are expected to take action if they learn or suspect that the Code of Ethics is being violated. Petroyağ is responsible for protecting those who report such concerns. The primary goal of the Code of Ethics is to strive for better and more truthful practices. False or malicious reports are considered lies, gossip, or slander, which do not align with ethical standards.

Consequently, any issue that is not clearly defined as ethical or unethical shall not be discussed outside the Ethics Commission until it is clarified, and confidentiality shall be maintained. This applies to both the Commission and all individuals involved in or managing the issue. Top management is the strongest advocate for the execution of the Code of Ethics.

Practices Training and Promotion

The Code of Ethics is distributed to all employees to serve as a guide when needed. A Code of Ethics training is provided to all employees to ensure thorough understanding and adoption. This training includes implementations, case studies, and exams to reinforce learning. New employees receive Code of Ethics training as part of their orientation.
